Fitzsimons Temple Bar – Dublin Ireland

Boasting multiple floors, multiple djs, multiple bars, this over-advertised, over-talked bar/nightclub is not as nice as it’s fancy advertising might have you believe.  It gets overcrowded – and not in an “everyone’s here to party” positive way.  While it IS everything it has made itself out, I think it would do better to cater well to one group, rather than over-hype the ability to experience everything All-in-One.

I would advise getting here earlier, and enjoying the “pub” portion on the lower level as that is the nicest of the entire venue.  If you are looking for a night-club, then attending “just” a nightclub is a better option.  Although, Dublin’s selection of lively pubs within Temple Bar will easily provide you with Free (no cover) entertainment.

The Porterhouse – Dublin Ireland

Nestled into the Temple Bar district of Dublin is the Porterhouse.  Featuring multiple floors of entertainment this pub is a great venue for a night out.  Often featuring live music in the evening this establishment’s wood paneled interior provides customers with a modern touch with a traditional feel.

Drinks are the average price you’ll see around Dublin, at a moderate €5/pint.

The Four Courts Hostel – Dublin, Ireland

I arrived here October 29th, 2008.

This is an excellent hostel located directly across the Liffey from the Four Courts Judicial building in Dublin, Ireland.  It is about a 10 minute walk along the quay’s to O’Connell street, and the center of the city.  On this journey you will pass by the “Temple Bar” area, the nightlife capital of the city.

Beds in this hostel range from €10 to €25 for a shared room.  If you are not staying in a private room, or fully booking the shared room with your group, then I would recommend staying in the largest available room.

During the week this is a generally quiet place to stay, but on Friday and Saturday it turns into a social place to start for a night out.  I’ve met some fun people to go out with, and have some social drinks in the hostel before going out to the Temple Bar, or any of the other social places.
